<b style="font-family: "trebuchet ms", sans-serif;">Ara of My Book and My Coffee:</b><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"> Hi Kayelle, my name is Ara and I am a book blogger and reviewer from MyBookandMyCoffee.com. It's very nice to meet you. Thank you for being "here" today. I'm so glad to have this interview opportunity with you. Please tell us a little bit about yourself. What are you up to these days (aside from the new book)?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"></span><a href="https://kayelleallen.com/reader-groups/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="300" data-original-width="300" height="200" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FUVOBsrYD-A/XqE6cWjU2qI/AAAAAAAAHpQ/upiXCvQudwkW0goeVFV_OUszJO1bw7AIQCLcBGAsYHQ/s200/Kayelle%2BAllen.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b><a href="https://kayelleallen.com/" target="_blank">Kayelle Allen</a>:</b> I've been living in quarantine-style isolation for most of my life. I'm a super introvert. My friends say I'm a closet extrovert because once I'm comfortable with people, I open up, and I have this weird thing where I actually ENJOY public speaking. I will have seven kinds of heart attack being in a crowded room, but get me alone on a stage and ask me to talk, and those butterflies in my stomach fly in formation. I know. Like I said. Weird. But that's me. Right now, I'm happy to have an excuse to be home and more or less alone. I can write without being asked to go anywhere or do anything. Love that. Miss hanging out with friends, but Skype takes care of some of that.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Ara:</b> I can understand that. We're very similar in a way. :) Congratulations on the new book! When did you start writing this book? How long was the process of writing this book?</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Kayelle:</b> Thank you. I'm excited about <b>A Stolen Heart</b>. I had the idea for this book about a year ago. I was working on other projects, but this kept coming to mind. There's a scene in my short story, Bro, where Luc and his son Senth have gotten invisibility cloaks through the Thieves' Guild, and Luc plays a trick on Senth with it. In the scene, Luc recalls playing hide and seek with Senth when the young man was a toddler. I thought a scene of that would be a great little short story for fans of the series, so I decided to write it. But once I sat down and started into the story I realized I needed a bit of background for the characters. Luc had adopted Senth, but why? What put him in place to meet this child? Why would he take an interest? The unfolding process took several months. Like most of my stories, once I knew where it was going, it didn't take long. But getting to that point feels like forever.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <br />

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b><a href="https://amzn.to/3cGCS3s" target="_blank">A Stolen Heart</a> by Kayelle Allen</b></span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Ara:</b> That's so inspiring! I've read the synopsis of this book and I can tell already that it's going to be a really interesting (and heartwarming) sci-fi novel. Adding now to my reading list. Any ongoing/future projects that we should be excited about?</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Kayelle:</b> I appreciate that. Yes, I'm already plotting another book. The immortal Luc Saint-Cyr is the hero in A Stolen Heart, and I'm actually working on another book for him, this time, a romance with his forever love.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Ara:</b> Oh gosh! Definitely something to look forward to. 😍 << Literally this is me right now. Do you have any advice to anyone out there who wishes to be a writer someday?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Kayelle: </b>Two things. One: Learn the craft of writing. Study. Learning should be a constant thing. Two: Start a newsletter as soon as possible. I suggest you study how by reading books like Newsletter Ninja by Tammi L Labrecque. You can pick it up here: https://amzn.to/2yddiEh Follow gurus like Derek Murphy and Nick Stephenson and listen to what they have to say.</span></div>
<br />
<b style="font-family: "trebuchet ms", sans-serif; text-align: justify;">Ara:</b><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; text-align: justify;"> Amazing tips! I'm sure these will be helpful. Before we end the interview, I really have to ask these. Coffee, sweet tea or hot cocoa?</span><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"></span><br />
<br />
<b style="font-family: "trebuchet ms", sans-serif; text-align: justify;">Kayelle:</b><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; text-align: justify;"> I start each day with coffee to which I have added a spoonful of cocoa. And then I end it with sweet herbal tea, so my answer to that question is "yes."</span><br />
<br /><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"></span>
<b style="font-family: "trebuchet ms", sans-serif; text-align: justify;">Ara:</b><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; text-align: justify;"> 😂 That's awesome! And lastly, who is your favorite 'friend' from F.R.I.E.N.D.S.?</span><br />
<br />
<b style="font-family: "trebuchet ms", sans-serif; text-align: justify;">Kayelle:</b><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; text-align: justify;"> Joey Tribbiani. He was goofy, fun, and though he was always half a step out of sync and missing the obvious, he's so sweet-natured you forgave him. Perhaps I like that characteristic of his persona because I'm the same way. I'm definitely a "big picture" person who can be super focused on the overall and miss the details. But then I can switch and be oblivious to big things because I focus so hard on the small things. If I'm remembered as a goofball who was clueless but lovable, that would be fine with me. I just want people to remember that like Joey, I cared about my friends. Joey asked "How ya doin'" because he missed things that went on before he got there or he realized belatedly that he needed to pay attention. Same here. A hazard of creative people? Maybe. In my case, maybe just a mind that is always somewhere else, thinking of the next story.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b><a href="http://shilpasuraj.com/" target="_blank">Shilpa Suraj</a>:</b> Hi Ara. It’s lovely to meet you, albeit virtually. I am, in calmer times, a working professional, mother to a pretty fabulous toddler and author all wrapped up in one messy package. I head HR & PR for an architecture and interior design firm and am currently because of the Covid – 19 pandemic working from home and trying rather unsuccessfully to homeschool my child.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Ara:</b> Oh, yes, homeschooling is very serious <i>business</i>. We can do this! :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Writing, heading HR & PR for an architecture and interior design firm, and being a parent – wow! You are busy busy busy! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Congratulations on the new book! When did you start writing this book? How long was the process of writing this book? Did you base it on anyone you know? Are you dedicating it to someone you know? Lots of questions! 😂</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>Shilpa:</b> Thank you. Love, Marriage, and Other Disasters was written a few years ago and revised and tweaked for publishing only recently. It is entirely fictional and not based on any one person but Alisha certainly has a lot in common with me personality wise. Her snark, her bravado, her intense familial loyalty, all of it echoes bits and pieces of me. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://amzn.to/34DZX40" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img border="0" data-original-height="929" data-original-width="600" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1r1zYEhj1MY/Xm8ojE0uLhI/AAAAAAAAHoE/mCWq7sH4hioWz85YTkpZrovk-o96oJ0IgCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/Love%252C%2BMarriages%252C%2Band%2BOther%2BDisasters.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I am dedicating this book first and foremost to Debdatta, who’s kept me sane and helped make sure this book is out there and in the hands of readers. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">And second but no less important, I am dedicating this book to my writer tribe. To the friends I’ve made in this wonderful journey and to the incredibly supportive network we’ve formed over the years. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Ara:</b> Thank you for sharing that. What's the biggest struggle (if any) you've encountered during the creation of this book?</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>Shilpa:</b> When I finished writing this book and pitched it, I was told that Indian readers wouldn’t be accepting of a divorced heroine. And that was the single most important reason that made me want to get this story out there for people to read. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Acceptance. Why is it conditional? And even worse, conditional to our prejudices, our preconceived notions, societal judgments, the list is endless…</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Can we not lead with kindness, with an open mind, with no judgement of people and their choices and most importantly, with love and acceptance? At the very least, can’t we try? </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Why should a label and not just the label ‘divorce’ but any label define a person? Can’t we look at someone and ‘see’ them? Not the packaging the world insists we see but ‘them.’</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Ara:</b> I agree with you. This story needs to be written for people to read and understand. I love the message that you want to share with others – Love and acceptance. Two things that are most important nowadays. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I've read the synopsis of the book and it's very interesting. I'm already excited as to which path this story would go. I'll definitely add this to my reading list. Any ongoing/future projects that we should be excited about? Is there a book 2 where readers can see what happens to Alisha after Book 1's ending?</span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>Shilpa: </b>There is definitely a Book 2, I won’t tell you whose so this interview stays spoiler free, and I’m halfway through writing it already. Book 3, Arav’s story, should follow soon after but I still have to finish plotting that in my head so that may take a while longer. 😊 </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Ara: </b>Definitely exciting stuff! Do you have any advice to bloggers out there who wish to be a writer someday?</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>Shilpa: </b>Not just bloggers but anyone who wants to write – the only way to do this is to start. Don’t overthink, overanalyze or wait for the perfect time to write. If you have a story you want to tell, go ahead and do so. Don’t worry about genre, word count, marketing strategies or which publisher to approach. All that is for later. For now, write. Tell your story.</span></div>
</div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"></span><br /></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Ara:</b> Thank you for that. Very good point. Yes, anyone who wants to write and get their story heard. I agree. Thank you so much for your time today! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Before we end the interview, I really have to ask these. Coffee, sweet tea or hot cocoa? </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>Shilpa: </b>Black coffee, no sugar. It’s quite addictive. 😊 </span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Ara: </b>Ahhh yes. And lastly, who is your favorite ‘friend’ from F.R.I.E.N.D.S.?</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>Shilpa: </b>Oh, this is a tough one. I think I’ll pick Chandler but only because his snarky sense of humour matches mine. Or maybe Joey...because <i>“How you doin?” </i></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Oh dear. Can I pick two? Never mind…It’s a moo point. 😊 Chandler. I pick Chandler. I think…</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img src="https://media.giphy.com/media/vNITrslTkxf8Y/source.gif" /></div>
<br />
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Ara: </b>Haha. I also cannot choose, really. I like them all. Thank you for your time, Shilpa. This was a really great interview and very informative. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>She believes in love, family and…squiggles!</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Alisha Rana is not your typical single desi girl. For one, she is on the wrong side of 30. For another, she is divorced. And last but definitely not least, she is still, gasp, a virgin!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Alisha doesn’t want much. But what she does want is that elusive thing all women search for – A man who gets her…but a man who gets her hot! She calls it “feeling the squiggle.”</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Enter Dr. Vivaan Kapoor, cute, hot, squiggle-worthy. The younger brother of her cousin's prospective groom, he’s got the squiggle factor in spades. The only catch? He's never been married and is years younger than Alisha. Basically, completely off-limits.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And then there is Arjun. Widowed, older than her by the right number of years and a genuinely nice guy. He's Vivaan’s cousin and a so-called perfect match for Alisha. The problem is, Alisha’s squiggle-o-meter refuses to budge for him.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">What will Alisha choose? A lifetime together with the 'right' man or a chance at happiness with the 'wrong' one?</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Orphaned in her childhood, Durga has always longed for wealth, security and, above all, a sense of belonging. She finds it all when she marries Debnarayan Chowdhury, heir to an immense, multi-crore estate. But the Chowdhury family has been under a curse that dates back to the British era. The first-born of each generation dies young, purportedly killed by the spirit of Kadambari, a young woman murdered by the notorious Shankar Dakat, the founder of the Chowdhury family and their Zamindari. When her father-in-law Birendranath dies unexpectedly, Durga and Debnarayan come down to the ancestral home in Kakdihi, a small village near Kolkata. The moment Durga enters her new palatial home, she crosses a threshold of terror. She loses her husband within a month of her marriage and finds herself a widow in a house full of strangers. Are Debnarayan’s and Birendranath’s deaths accidental? Everyone in her new family and the neighborhood appear to be friendly. Most of them have a motive to kill her. A well-meaning neighbor tells her, ‘Run from this place. You have no friends here.’ Is she, the current owner of the estate, now on the murderer’s radar? </span></div>

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i>Seventeen-year-old Molly Peskin-Suso knows all about unrequited love. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b style="font-family: "trebuchet ms", sans-serif;">This book is my favorite right now. Oh my. It is just so incredibly cute and heart-warming. heart emoji. - <a href="http://www.mybookandmycoffee.com/" target="_blank">Ara @ My Book and My Coffee</a></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">The book is about Molly Peskin-Suso's seventeen-year-old life which includes feelings and actually, lots of it. It explores a seventeen-year-old's take on feeling something special for a boy or boys but could not say anything about it because of several things to consider. Or maybe it is just not the time. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">What does a teen know about unrequited love? I guess, a lot. Just from the title of this book, I got really interested already. I mean, what <i>is</i> the upside of unrequited? I would like to know what this book will make me realize! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Young love. It is meant to be enjoyed... And also learned from. (One of the things I've learned in life and what this book is reminding us all.)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">The Upside of Unrequited is definitely well-written. It explored a lot of openness, which is refreshing. I really liked everything about it. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">My favorite character is Reid. He's dedicated and one of a kind. I definitely will date a 'Reid' in real life if someone like that exists! 😇</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">My favorite scenario is Chapter 23. I know it's a whole chapter but you'll know what I mean when you do read this book. And I highly recommend that you do! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">So, back to my question above: What is the upside of unrequited based in this book? Well, this is my take on it. Based on what I've read, the upside of it is that you get to actually treasure when it is not unrequited anymore. You get to really enjoy and appreciate the situation when love is not unrequited anymore. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i>*A little spoiler. You’ve been warned.*</i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<b style="font-family: "trebuchet ms", sans-serif;">Good twist and a worthy (dare I say, needed) continuation of the first book. This book continues the relatability factor that already exists in <a href="https://www.mybookandmycoffee.com/2018/12/book-review-to-all-boys-ive-loved-before.html" target="_blank">To All The Boys I've Loved Before</a>. The story reminded me that love is not plain and simple. It never is. - <a href="http://www.mybookandmycoffee.com/" target="_blank">Ara @ My Book and My Coffee</a></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i>P.S. I Still Love You</i> continues Lara Jean's story from <i>To All the Boys I've Loved Before</i>. The first book ended perfectly as what TATBILB #TeamPeter fans (including me) have hoped for. However, we are reminded in this book that not all happy, giddy, and lovely relationships won't face any problem along the way. Even though they started really magical, they are bound to get some zits and zaps.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Did we really expect that those love letters that were sent accidentally won't have any other positive 'responses'? In this book, Lara Jean will find out more about <i>one of the boys she loved before</i>. Can she handle him and his charm? It is pretty exciting, really. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Lots of things to like about TATBILB 2 though. I extremely liked the part where Peter gave Lara Jean her necklace back. And what he said there was really sweet for a 17-year old like him.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">One thing here, it felt a bit looooong during the first half of the book. I think that is just because I would like to know more about the new boy. And I would like for the Genevieve thing to be done already. But I guess she is a needed twist in the story. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Overall, I would still highly recommend reading this one, too, because if you're #TeamPeter it will definitely be worth your time. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">My favorite character: John Ambrose McClaren. I realllly like him. He is thoughtful, charming, and OMG cool! </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

</i></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i>Sixteen-year-old Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.</i></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i><br />
</i></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>Book Review ~ </b></span><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before</b></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i>*A little spoiler. You’ve been warned.*</i></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><b style="font-family: "trebuchet ms", sans-serif;">Get ready to fall in love again with Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. This was a really fascinating read. It made me remember how it feels to not have an idea about love and then realizing it all of a sudden. I loooooooooove this book and can’t wait to read the next one. - <a href="http://www.mybookandmycoffee.com/" target="_blank">Ara @ My Book and My Coffee</a></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Keeping love letters (she doesn’t intend to send) in a teal hatbox her mother gave her? That’s Lara Jean Song. It’s kind of amazing, what this teal hatbox is for, really, and you’ll find that out once you read it (or maybe you know it already if you’ve read this one). </span></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Personally, handwritten letters are underrated especially nowadays. I read about a girl who kept writing to her pen pal even with the technology today and I’ve always admired her for that. It keeps things personal and with effort. I was like that once, you know. I’ve handwritten love letters, diaries and more. I’ve kept them but there were circumstances were these also got me into trouble. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Anyway ... let’s go back to Lara Jean. I told you, it made me remember things.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I soooo love this story. No dull moment in this story at all. It’s so nice to see Lara Jean’s character to actually explore and find out things for herself. That’s an important aspect of growing up, I believe. To learn on your own. To be responsible for your own actions and most of all, to know what’s true and what’s probably not. You cannot be perfect but that’s life. You decide what’s perfect for you and what’s not going to work out. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I didn’t read any reviews or watch the Netflix film so I didn’t know that I will also like Peter Kavinsky’s character. At first I was annoyed but this character will grow on you -- you will love him, too. I like that he’s someone that you can belong with. Could it be? </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Josh. Joshy. One would think that he’s perfect for any Song girl but he only fits that way with the first one. Hint. Hint. I like his character but there are some lines that you don’t cross. Any time. For those of you who have read this book, you know what I mean. :)</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Margot and Katherine are Lara Jean’s sisters. They are supportive in their own way. I love their bond. I also like that Katherine’s wise and mind you, way beyond her age. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I wasn’t that much happy with the ending simply because I wanted moooooore. And I think that just shows how this book was so effective for me. It made me want more. I certainly want to know what happens next. Now. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">Great job. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;">I gotta go buy the next book in this series. Bye. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="255" data-original-width="155" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gWI2tokR1qU/VzgxQBBmo0I/AAAAAAAAHGI/QyxchJavOhsJI09jPA83bf54gYVKLPTUACPcBGAYYCw/s1600/StarRating_5.png" /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">Stracciatella, please? 10 scoops. Too much? </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">Carolina just lost her mom and now, her grandma sends her to Florence, Italy to go live with her father (who lives in a cemetery). Real father or not? Is he a father because he loved her mother? Or is he the mysterious X? Find out for yourself. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">Awkward, awkward, awkward situation, I know. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">Carolina's character is easily relatable because her being a teenager, losing someone important in her life, and taking on new adventures are something most of us have or had experienced in our own personal lives. And to be with a stranger at a certain time like that, and in a different country would be too much to handle - teenager or adult. I think she's brave for even doing the things that she did. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">Italy is a magical place, so I'm told. Haven't been but I've been to some parts of Europe already. The author made sure that we can also visualize what Carolina's seeing while she's <i>there </i>whether it's a Piazza or a secret bakery somewhere. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">Lorenzo or Ren - maybe it's fate that brought him and Carolina together but all I can say is that it must have been sooooo nice to have someone that you can be comfortable with almost right away, given her situation. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">The journal. Oh yes, there's a journal. Too many emotions. Sadness, joy, awe, anger, frustration, and more. Sometimes, the truth hurts (we all know this) but Carolina did what she had to do to find out more about where she came from. For me, it is better to know than to fantasize something that you don't have any idea about. To know is to fill the void, to answer questions that matter to you. To help you decide what will matter and what will not in the end. I understand this completely. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">I like the ending very much. Well, I do like happy endings. <i>Hint hint.</i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><i><br /></i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">If you like romance with a little bit of mystery and adventure, don't hesitate to go and get this book.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><b>Daisy James </b>is a Yorkshire girl transplanted to the north east of England. She loves writing stories with strong heroines and swift-flowing plotlines. When not scribbling away in her summerhouse, she spends her time sifting flour and sprinkling sugar and edible glitter. She loves gossiping with friends over a glass of something pink and fizzy or indulging in a spot of afternoon tea – china plates and teacups are a must.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>John Green made me cry again! Another great book from him, and this one’s packed with interesting conversations, and more. - <a href="http://www.mybookandmycoffee.com/" target="_blank">Ara @ My Book and My Coffee</a></b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">Aza is a very brave girl. She just doesn’t know it yet. This is my personal opinion. Reading this book, you have to keep an open mind. There may be some parts that you don’t or won’t understand but it will make sense as you continue reading. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">I understood Aza’s character 1) because anxiety is something that I believe we all endure from time to time 2) and because the author really made it sure that any reader will understand what is going on. Mental health should be taken seriously, people. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">There were times when I got so frustrated about Aza’s situation. I just like for everything to be okay with her. I badly wanted to be her friend most of the time in that book. It's funny to think that one would want to be friends with a fictional character but this book is that effective. And you know, I would listen to her non-stop because she needs that. She would need someone to listen to her and not judge her in the process. Someone that will actually hear her. I am not a professional and so I cannot really get her the help that she needs but I'll be that friend who'll stick around. She needs one of those. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">I love how the story was written overall. I love that I was reminded that happiness or being happy in general is some sort of progress. And that it’s okay to be clueless sometimes of what’s going to happen next. I, ‘a singular proper noun’ will go on. This book is inspiring. Go read it. </span></div>

</i></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><i>Art historian Angela Renatus is haunted by dreams of Leonardo da Vinci and a mysterious painting of Giuliano Medici and his mistress Fioretta Gorini. A painting that, as far as the world knows, doesn’t exist. Compelled by her visions, Angela is determined to find out the truth.</i></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><i><br />
</i></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><i>When Angela is contacted by art detective, Alex Caine, she’s shocked to learn that he too is seeking the same painting. Alex’s client, a wealthy German financier, is determined to clear the name of his late uncle, Gerard Jaeger, an art historian, who went missing in Florence, during World War II. In letters written before his disappearance, the historian describes his love affair with a beautiful young Italian woman named Sophia Caro, and the discovery of an extraordinary painting by the great master himself—a painting depicting Giuliano and Fioretta.</i></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><i><br />

Is it a lost da Vinci, potentially worth hundreds of millions of dollars, or a wild goose-chase that will only lead to a dead end? But someone else is searching for the illusive painting—Alberto Scordato is a powerful man in the art world and a sociopath who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, even murder. Scordato knows something about Angela that even she doesn’t know, something that could threaten both Angela and Alex’s lives, forcing them into the crosshairs of fate.</i></span></div><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><i><br />

</b></span> <span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><b>Diane Zparkki - </b></span><span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">I was born and raised in the greater Toronto area and raised my own family in the suburbs of the city. I'm a busy working mom with writing being my second full time job. With my husband, we have raised three great kids. Who constantly keep me on my toes and laughing. I enjoy planning themed parties and traveling with my family creating memories. Thrill seeking of some sort is always on the menu which I usually drags my family along with me. Going to the movies is always a good night out or curling up with a book and a steaming cup of tea. I have been known to do some Netflix binge watching.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">I was never a big reader or writer in my youth-Coles Notes were my best friend throughout college. My enthusiasm for reading came later in life when I joined a book club. I enjoyed reading those initial books that got me hooked into the literary world, but I wanted raw, simple, and happily ever after with a bit of get down and dirty. That was when my love for Alpha bad boys on a Harley was set in motion.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">After becoming an avid reader, my mind started to create my first story, and I needed to get it out.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;">Fixing Sydney and Holden's Regrets are the first two of Branson's Kind of Love Trilogy. I hope you enjoy Sydney and Holden's stories with Logan's coming in the near future.</span><br />

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Beneath the earth’s surface, candles
cast abstract patterns on the backs of nine people huddled together. The wind
whipped the sooty air, causing flames to flash and sketch skewed halos across
the participants’ heads. Someone groaned, others sighed, a testament to the
evening’s grueling debate. Only their leader remained focused, smoothed over
differences, preventing hurtful words or actions from spinning off into
permanent wounds. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; text-indent: .5in;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">“<i>I’m willing to go over the issue
again,</i>” he said, “<i>even though I doubt further discussion is necessary.</i>”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> A female spoke up. “<i>I don’t like any
of this. Maybe we should just admit defeat.</i>”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> The leader turned to her, his
creased forehead and steely demeanor barely visible in the amber glow; still,
she felt his cool appraisal, and more significantly his release of animal
pheromone, bending her to his will. She shrank back.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> “<i>There’ll be no admission of
defeat,</i>” he said. “<i>No giving up. Sometimes we have to make hard choices. Risk
everything if necessary.</i>” His voice was calm but with a serrated edge, since he
had learned years ago that he could get more with subtle intimidation, using
tricks as simple as flared nostrils. Of course, if more was needed, threats
remained a viable option.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> Another man spoke up. “<i>I’ve made my
decision,</i>” he said with a wink toward the leader, “<i>and I’m ready to vote. We’ve
been going round and round for the past month. I think we should just get this
over with.</i>”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; text-indent: .5in;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> “<i>I’m ready too,</i>” said the leader. “<i>But</i>”—he
held up a finger—“<i>with one stipulation. Due to the subject matter, I don’t want
to use secret ballots like we usually do. This must be a unanimous decision. I
need to know we’re in this together.</i>” He looked at each member. “Agreed?”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> There was fidgeting, murmurs,
grunts, but finally nods of approval all around.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> “<i>Good. Then let’s do it. Everyone
knows my position. We’ve covered the pros and cons down to the last detail. So
if you trust me, believe in me, you’ll follow my recommendation. Now those in
favor, raise your hands.</i>”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> Immediately, five hands shot up, then
two others, and, after a protracted pause, an eighth. Only a half-smile
appeared on the leader’s face since one more affirmation was needed to ensure
complete triumph. He narrowed his eyes to envelop the sole dissident, a
plain-looking woman known for her stubbornness. “Mary, Mary, Mary,” he said,
repeating her name with a shake of his head. Taken aback at being the lone
holdout, the woman felt a catch in her throat followed by an acrid taste on her
tongue, prompting second thoughts. Like a helium balloon, her hand soared into
the air.<i><o:p></o:p></i></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; text-indent: .5in;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">“<i>That’s better,</i>” said the leader,
staring at the troublemaker with a laser beam’s intensity. Springing to his
feet, he rose on his toes, adding not only height but the illusion of strength.
“<i>The motion is approved,</i>” he said, chest out, smiling ear to ear. “<i>And now, my
friends, my dear, dear friends—I bid you a pleasant night.</i>”</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i>On the eve of his tenth birthday, a young slave’s life is turned upside down. The unthinkable events that led up to the day Oscar Mercer saw a hummingbird test the limits of this young boy’s body, mind and soul. Gripped with fear and filled with anger, Oscar faces raw, crushing hatred aimed at him and everyone he loves. In a time when a nation was ripped apart geographically, economically, politically and morally, comes a story of a courageous boy who began life as a slave on a sugarcane plantation in Louisiana and escapes via the Underground Railroad. Through the efforts and good will of kind, brave people determined to free slaves, Oscar faces devastating obstacles and dangers. Struggling with his inner impulse to seek revenge for the injustices and violence levied on his family and friends, he discovers that in bondage you pray to God, but in freedom you meet Him. From the award-winning, best-selling author of The Seven Year Dress comes a story that brings another cadre of memorable characters alive on pages that pulse with hatred and kindness, cruelty and compassion, despair and hope. Oscar’s journey on the Underground Railroad is a heart-pounding ride that the reader will remember long after this story ends. </i></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i>It’s quite rare to find someone who sees the same world you see.</i></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i><br />
</i></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i>Sixteen-year-old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett’s son, Davis.</i></span></div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i>Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts. </i></span></div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i>In his long-awaited return, John Green, the acclaimed, award-winning author of Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars, shares Aza’s story with shattering, unflinching clarity in this brilliant novel of love, resilience, and the power of lifelong friendship.</i></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: "trebuchet ms" , sans-serif;"><i><br />
