Divorced, Desperate and Delicious (Divorced and Desperate Book 1)

Divorced, Desperate and Delicious Kindle eBook description:

Detective Chase Kelly is in a situation – not just any situation though.  It is one of those times when a semiautomatic .45 is pointed at you… Yes, not just any situation.  He’s thinking of ways to get out of the situation.  Should he fight back?  (Dumb?) Oh wait, there’s a bridge!  While at it, the bad guy/s (I will leave him/them nameless for you to find out!) is asking for that ‘damn’ book.  What book, you ask?  Well, Detective Chase is asking the same thing … This scenario ends with a gunshot and the bridge, let’s say, being ‘occupied’.

Lacy Maguire, always trying very hard not to discuss her sex life with her mother, is living alone in her house with her dog ‘Fabio’ and three cats.  She is a photographer working at home, recently divorced, not so desperate (okay, maybe the other way around? No…), and oh well, you know the other one.  She is living her life, determined to be celibate but little did she know that Fabio will surprise her with a catch – not from one of his roach conquests though … A much bigger catch.

What I think about Divorced Desperate and Delicious

“Utterly delicious” – My Book and My Coffee

Christie Craig, an award winning author (multi-published writer, too), did a very good job in this book.  If one of her goals is for readers to support the other ‘Divorced’ books, then she has achieved this goal with flying colors.

The story is mixed with suspense, humour, romance, adventure and some action (I’d rather not elaborate on that note; my grandfather reads my blogs …), too.  And yes, it is addictive.  I finished this book in two days – Mind you, I am a mommy to a toddler.  I simply can’t and won’t put it down – it’s so much fun!  If you have read Jenny Crusie and Janet Evanovich’s books, then you’ll certainly enjoy this one.

You’ll also fall in love with the ‘Divorced, Desperate and Delicious’ characters.  Detective Chase Kelly, Lacy Maguire, the bad guy/s (shall remain nameless here), the good guy/s (Chase’s friends), Lacy’s amazing friends who will not falter to talk about sex, girth and lesbianism, and Lacy’s Mom (I’ll let you discover that one).

Title: Bah, Humbug!

Genre: Romance Comedy
Form: Kindle eBook

Bah Humbug!

Bah, Humbug! by Heather Horrocks Description:

Lexi Anderson. Kyle Miller.
She’s a TV hostess, considered as the next Martha Stewart.  He’s a famous adventure novel writer.

Lexi has two endearing, smart kids. All of them (Yes, including Lexi) are fond of Jared Strong adventures - Jared being the primary character in Kyle’s novels.

Kyle, “Mr. Anti-Christmas”, while writing the 5th Jared novel, experiences (oh no!) a writer’s block. Well, not for long. I don’t want to give anything away. It’s better this way. ;) Let’s just say that Lexi and Kyle apparently live on the same street and their meeting for the first time includes a snowman. Oh dear.

What do I think of Bah, Humbug!

First of all, I love the characters. And to be honest, I have a thing with Christmas stories. The plot is a wonderful-thing-waiting-to-happen. Although this is too good to be true, especially in some of the scenarios (or maybe this is too good to be true – only in my world), I am still very impressed with the author’s creativity and dedication. Oh, poor snowman.
